Thrown, glazed, and fired by hand
A two-potter studio in a former weaving shed in the Calder Valley. We mix our own glazes from local ash and fire a wood kiln twice a season.

Kilnhouse is two potters, one dog and a very large kiln in a former weaving shed on the canal. We make everyday tableware and a small number of one-off vessels, all from stoneware fired to 1280°C.
We mix our own glazes from local wood ash, iron and a little wood-kiln luck. The wood kiln is fired twice a season and the results are unpredictable, which is why we love it. Studio sales are held on the first Saturday of each month.

New glaze: celadon ash
After forty-one test tiles we found a pale green that isn't too sweet.
